Las Vegas Search - Local Business Listings - City Guides - LasVegas.allaboutlocal.com Las Vegas is all about glitz and glamour, fun and fantasy. A trip to Vegas is like a trip around the world without the jet lag. See the Sphinx, Roman Forum, Eiffel Tower, State of Liberty, Venetian canals complete with gondolas, the Caribbean and return to the Wild Wild West within the four-mile long Las Vegas Strip.

Since the first Las Vegas casino opened in 1931 the growth never stopped. There always seems to be a new resort/casino opening boasting bigger, bolder and better than the competition. It is a 24-hour town where fortunes are made and lost in a day. Each year more than 38 million visitors lured by the dream of striking it rich and seeing the stars head for Las Vegas. Thousands of visitors come to conventions and meetings in the city. Over 120,000 couples get married in Las Vegas every year. Some weddings are romantic and elaborate; some are wacky and spontaneous. (Beware: If you are tempted to wed on a whim, check Nevada statutes. There are no longer quickie divorces in Las Vegas.) Over 1,100 flights from 125 cities arrive and depart daily at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. On arrival, it’s a quick ride to the Las Vegas Strip by taxi, shuttle or rental car. Getting around the center of the action in Las Vegas is easy and cheap. There’s the Las Vegas Monorail, double-decker buses known as The Deuce, a tourist trolley and a few free trams operating between major resorts and casinos. You may not need a rental car if you are only in town for a gambling getaway. However, there are numerous nearby attractions that are worth the trip. Las Vegas rental cars are reasonable and parking is typically not a problem.
